Tea Tree Oil Psoriasis Cure: A Way Of Putting An End To The Plague Of Psoriasis

Tea Tree Oil Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin condition that is characterized by inflamed red patches with scaly white flaking. It can occur in the scalp, elbows, genitals and knees. There are five types of psoriasis that an individual may acquire. These are guttate, plague, pustular, erythrodermic and inverse. The most common type of psoriasis is plague which can be found in 80% of sufferers. Each type of psoriasis has different characteristics but each one can produce different discomforts in the sufferer. Using chemically based creams can sometimes trigger irritation and can sometimes do more harm than good. As an alternative, tea tree oil can now be found in antifungal creams, shampoos and lotions. Tea tree oil psoriasis treatment contains antifungal properties that can alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis. [i]

There are various ways of using tea tree oil for psoriasis. If you intend to use it on your skin, mix one spoon of the oil with 6 parts of almond or lavender oil. Massage the mixture into the skin with a cotton ball and repeat steps as needed. The mixture will be quickly absorbed by the skin which destroys the breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. Applying tea tree oil to the skin can reduce any pain, itching and speed up the healing process. It also decreases the risk of scarring. [ii]

You can also mix tea tree oil with your bath water. Once you soak yourself in bath water which contains the tea tree oil, psoriasis lesions will begin to lessen and your condition will begin to improve. Add a few drops of tea tree oil to the bath water and soak yourself for approximately fifteen minutes. You will only know how much oil to add by either reading the usage directions on a particular bottle. Also, your own experience with using the product will tell you the correct levels for using the product as an individual. Tea tree oil bath water can be coupled with using tea tree soaps. Soaps that contain tea tree oil are available at health food stores. They can soothe itchy skin and control the side effects of the psoriasis. Don’t use too many products at once because you could “overdose” on tea tree oil which means that it could make the problem worse or cause you unnecessary side-effects.

If psoriasis occurs in your scalp, you can treat the problem by massaging a mixture of tea tree oil and carrier oil directly into the affected area of your scalp. Let the mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes, after which you must rinse thoroughly with water. You can either purchase medicated shampoo with tea tree oil or use your own mixture, made up of your own shampoo and a few drops of tea tree oil added, to cure scalp psoriasis. You can purchase bottles of tea tree oil on Amazon.[iii]

Doctors often recommend cortisone for treating all types of psoriasis but some patients have found tea tree oil psoriasis treatment to be effective as well. In spite of the benefits of tea tree oil, there are only a few studies that will prove its effectiveness for curing psoriasis. Never use tea tree oil solely as this will lead to aggravating your skin condition and if irritation occurs, discontinue its use and ask your doctor for recommendations.  [iv]
